Alliance Living Services provides personalized, one-on-one Independent Living Skills (ILS) training for adults with developmental disabilities — right in your home and community.
We founded Alliance Living Services because we believe independence isn't given — it's built, skill by skill, alongside someone who genuinely cares. As an Independent Living Services agency serving the San Diego Regional Center community, we partner with each individual and their support team to turn everyday goals into lasting abilities.
Our instructors meet people where they are — at home, on the bus, at the grocery store — because real learning happens in real life.
Every plan is built around the individual's own goals, pace, and choices — never a one-size-fits-all program.
Skills are taught where they're actually used — your kitchen, your neighborhood, your community.
We coach, encourage, and celebrate progress — we don't take over. The goal is always greater independence.
Independent Living Skills training is a regional center service (Service Code 520) that helps adults with developmental disabilities build the practical skills needed to live on their own — or more independently with family.
Menu planning, grocery shopping, kitchen safety, and preparing healthy meals at home.
Budgeting, paying bills, banking, and making smart everyday spending choices.
Using the bus and trolley, reading routes and schedules, and traveling safely in the community.
Personal care routines, healthy habits, and knowing when and how to get medical care.
Speaking up, making choices, understanding your rights, and asking for what you need.
Finding and using local resources — medical, dental, social, and public services.
Staying safe at home and in the community, handling emergencies, and knowing who to call.
Independent recreation, hobbies, and building connections in your community.
ILS services are funded through the San Diego Regional Center. Here's how the process works — and we're happy to help you through it.
